Lloyd Maxwell Lees was born on November 5, 1932 to Harry and Lois Lees. Lloyd had six brothers, George, John, Carey, Kenner, Archie, and Charles and three sisters Joy, Dorothy, and Lois. They were raised on the family farm near Beatty Saskatchewan. Lloyd and Doreen “Peaches” (Leland), met at Bible Camp as teenagers. They were married on September 7, 1954 and raised five children, Howard, Debra (Jerry Rush), Murray (Glenda), Leona, Colin (Cynthia), on the same farm that Lloyd was born on. They would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary this year. Lloyd loved to farm and drive buses and trucks. He spent 10 years at Briercrest Schools, working as the Alumni Director and driving tour buses. Lloyd and Doreen moved to BC for six years, where they drove various semi truck routes, and finally back to Weldon Saskatchewan, to care for Doreen’s father, Henry. Lloyd spent many years touring and speaking with Canadian Revival Fellowship. He filled in at churches as a lay pastor and spoke at Bible Camps. His passion was to talk about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and he shared his faith everywhere he went. Well into his 80’s, he prayed daily for each of his 20 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren, and spent time with each grandchild, giving them advice and encouraging them in their faith. The last few years of Lloyd’s life involved a number of health issues. He passed away peacefully at his home, on March 24, with his wife and daughter, Leona, by his side.
