Gerda Anderson Funeral Livestream Link
It is with heavy hearts we the children of Gerda (Mom) announce her passing. Mom was born in Priemhousen RM of Krs Naugard Province Pommern Germany, to Otto and Louise Fenzke. Gerda was their fourth born.
At the end of WWII Mom met the love of her life James Anderson a Canadian Soldier. They were married November 6, 1947 in Munster Germany. In 1949 Mom and Dad and their two oldest children James and Margaret left Germany. They arrived in Canada in 1950. James and Gerda settled in the St. Brieux area. Together they farmed and raised their nine children, Gerda was a devoted wife, mother and grandma.
Mom was a beautiful homemaker, she loved to bake, cook, sew, garden and spend time with her family. When Dad got sick and could no longer reside at home, it was Mom’s desire to remain on her farm and her devoted daughter Margaret made that possible. Together they made many trips between P.A. and St. Brieux. Mom always said her house was Margaret’s and Margaret’s house was hers. She was over joyed that she was still able to spend a lot of time on the farm.
Mom was home for Xmas 2020 and in February of 2021 her health really started to fail. She fought hard to recover as she had a real zest for life.
Six days after Mom’s 97th birthday the Lord took her home.
