Obituary
Dorothy Jane Fredin passed away on August 24, 2020 at New Market Manor in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. Dorothy was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan on December 17, 1918, the youngest child of Frank and Edith Ledger. Dorothy grew up in the Mossdale District where she attended Flint school till grade eight, after which she went to work at different families and neighbors. In July of 1938 she married Carl Fredin and they moved to a quarter of land in the Leviathan District. Carl farmed and worked out over the years. They had six children, Arland, Leslie, Robert, Inez, Dianne, and Brian. When Carl’s health failed, they moved to Melfort where she worked at the Hospital for a number of years. Dorothy loved to travel and had went on many bus trips into the States. Bowling was one of her favorite pastimes. She won many trophies and continued to bowl up into her late eighties. Dorothy looked forward to berry picking every year and especially enjoyed picking blueberries. Some of the other hobbies she enjoyed were dancing, camping, baseball, and hockey. The Melfort Fair and the chuckwagon races were an annual event she always attended. Dorothy was always full of life and enjoyed every thing she did to the fullest. She was always busy and had a zest for life. She was never one to sit at home and let life pass her by. Dorothy will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. She often said her biggest accomplishment was her family and she was extremely proud of all of them. Dorothy is survived by all six of her children, fourteen grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren
Memorial contributions in memory of Dorothy may be directed to the Pleasantdale Chapel.
