Born January 15, 1921, Ward Marshall came into this world to begin his journey on earth. Ward’s journey on earth was a long healthy life and he lived life to what he thought was his purpose on earth, which was as he always said “I love to work,” and that he did. As a young man, Ward worked as a bartendar and was always ready to do a job no matter what the task at hand was. After years of working as a bartendar and helping on the farm, Ward then became a full time farmer in the 50’s and continued to do so until around 1975. Ward then began a new venture on his journey at Pioneer Lodge and Nirvanna in maintenance and worked until his retirement in 1985. After Ward retired he enjoyed his retirement years with his long time housekeeper and friend of 30 plus years until her passing. Knowing Ward, through his years of employment at the Lodge and Nirvana, farming or just meeting him on the street and introducing himself and saying “Say do you want to go for a coffee or a pretty good meal.” Ward always had a story or two from playing in a band for dances, working in the bar and he always left you with a laugh and a smile after his stories. Ward’s stories will be missed by many an many of you here this evening have a good story or a laugh for your own memory to keep. On June 21, 2016 Ward Marshall’s journey on earth ended and he left to rest with family and friends. Ward leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, a sister-in-law, two grandchildren which he adopted as his own, numerous friends that have known and loved him. He will be missed by many and especially to those who were held close to his heart.
