Obituary
Maureen Elizabeth Glauser was born in New Westminster, BC on April 6, 1949.
After losing her parents a few years apart when they were young, Maureen and her siblings were sent to live with family members.
Maureen and her sister Brenda then went to live at the Convent in St. Brieux., and a few years later, with Mr. Louis Dube.
Maureen married Alan Carfantan April 15, 1968. Three children were born to them, Tiana Marie in February 1969, Laurie Lynne in April of 1970, and Kent Joseph in January of 1973.
Maureen enjoyed singing her whole life, and did so at every opportunity that arose or when she was asked. Her garden was one of her passions as well and because it was visible from the road, it was always neat and tidy. She was leader of the Beatty 4-H Beef Club for many years which she also enjoyed.
In February of 1996, Maureen married Jim Drury.
The adventures began when Maureen took up golfing and one of her greatest achievements was getting a hole in one in Texas in 2006. They camped during the summers at various parks and travelled when they could. They became snowbirds and started travelling to Sinton, Texas every winter. Not only is the weather a lot warmer, but you can golf there all winter long. Maureen made many friends wherever she went and always came back home and shared her unique crafts and recipes.
Maureen was diagnosed with cancer in October of 2014. She passed away peacefully June 29, 2015 at the Melfort Union Hospital.
