Jean (Trent) Bennett was born Nov 25, 1928 to Percy & Annie Jewel (Tot) Trent. She was raised on a farm near Pathlow SK. Jean was the youngest of four daughters, Belle Betnar, Mary Swaffield and Margaret Gallais.
Jean married Elden Bennett on Oct 14, 1949 & they farmed in the Pathlow district. They were blessed with four children; Leanne (Larry) Sauer, Gerald (Judy) Bennett, Elaine (George) Pelletier and Douglas (Elaine) Bennett. Soon their family grew with the addition of 9 grandchildren, Leigh (Kelli) Sauer, Shane (Stephanie) Sauer, Tara (Chad) Oborowsky, Meegan (Phil) Wall, Shawn (Ang) Bennett, Cory Pelletier, Angie Bennett-Letcher, Kelsey (Tyler) Rockwell & Bryn (Ashlee) Bennett as well as 21 great grandchildren.
Jean was an avid volunteer and donated many hours to Canadian Bible Society, Roman Catholic Church (Reader and Bread & Cup), Anglican Church (Sunday School Teacher & Lay Reader & Vestry), Royal Canadian Legion, Melfort Curling Club and Melfort Golf & Country Club to name a few.
Jean & Eldie loved to fish and had many fishing trips with family and friends. Another passion of Jean’s was curling and golfing.
Though Jean’s love for her husband and children was strong, her belief and faith in Jesus was even stronger. She did not hesitate to remind everyone about Jesus’ love. She would tell everyone “Jesus Loves you & so do I”. This strong faith carried Jean through as her body began to fail. She always said she was ready to be with her Lord.
Jean is predeceased by her parents, Percy & Tot Trent, her husband, Elden Bennett, sisters, Belle Betnar and Mary Swaffield, brother-in-laws, Louis Betnar, Bert Swaffield, Hubert Gallais, her special friend Gordon Godwin and her precious great granddaughter, Jenna Sauer.
