Obituary
Norma Marie Owens (Pierson) was born in Birch Hills SK on January 5, 1932. She was the first of five children born to Herman and Hazel (Espesth).
She married Jim Owens on November 19, 1949. They were married in the Anglican church in Kinistino, and continued their married life together farming just south of Kinistino in the RM of Flett’s Springs. It was there that they raised their two children, Laurie and Todd.
Norma passed away at the Melfort Union Hospital on Dec 4, 2017, leaving to mourn her husband Jim, daughter Laurie (Ken) Hookway, son Todd (Stephanie) Owens. Grandchildren: Carrie (Michael) Yurchuk, Erica & Niklas. Matthew Audette, Stacy (Narender) Singh. Amy (Nick) Maksymyk, Lauren & Evan. Dustin (Claire) Owens, Lilah & Holden. Chelsea Owens. Sydney (Keith) Adcock.
Also mourning her loss is her brother Jack (Duchee) Pierson, sisters, Linda (Bob) Eaton, Bev (Felix) Royer. Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Les and Pat Owens, Stan (Claudette) Owens, Lynn Owens and Rusty (Diane) Owens
Norma was predeceased by her parents, Herman and Hazel Pierson granddaughter Christie Lee Audette, parents-in-law Campbell and Edythe Owens , her brother Ken, and nephew Gerald Royer. As well as brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill (Ruth) Owens, Ted Owens, and Dale Owens.
Norma was so proud of her family and loved them very much. She looked forward to time spent at Candle and Emma Lakes, especially proud of the lifestyle she and Jim had accomplished. She enjoyed her creative art style, observation of wildlife, special attention to cats and dogs and most of all, the quality visiting with special friends. Even after leaving her home for extra care, she was able to maintain a sense of attention to the lives of those around her and their needs.
