Dorothy was born April 20, 1935 to Bob and Ida Atkinson, the eldest of two daughters. Dorothy grew up in the Willowdale district where she attended school until moving to Melfort where she graduated from MCCI in 1955. On April 29, 1959 Dorothy married the love of her life George (Greg) Peterson. They resided in Melfort where Dorothy began working for Dr. Singer. Dorothy then changed her career to administration when she started working for Sask-Tel. She later became a telephone operator where she remained until her retirement. Dorothy passed away March 24, 2018 at the age of 82 years. Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband George Peterson: parents Bob and Ida Atkinson and sister Evelyn Peterson: brother in law Allan Peterson: sister in laws Annie Sochaski and Midge (Ray) Barks. She leaves to mourn her passing, Lori (Butch) Canvin, Dion (Tammy) Peterson, Fenwick and Briar; Tyler (Julia James) Canvin. Numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Memorial contributions in memory of Dorothy may be directed to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, Saskatchewan Lung Association and / or Salvation Army Citadel.
