Shawn was born on September 23, 1966 at the Kinistino Union Hospital the only son of Dennis and Fay Leonard. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon on November 13, 2015. Shawn was raised on the family farm north-east of Kinistino where he later settled with his wife Shawna (Hedlund) in 1998. He loved the farm and spent his lifetime working there with his dad and eventually his son Morgan who was born in 1999. A daughter, Jessica completed their family in 2003. Shawn also enjoyed spending time at the lake, fishing, watching hockey, and football while surrounded by family and friends. Shawn was known for his generosity and sense of humour and enjoyed sharing his time and all that he had with those he cared about. Shawn leaves to mourn his wife of 17 years, Shawna and their children, Morgan and Jessica. His parents, Dennis and Fay Leonard; his sisters and their families: Carla (Barry) Hope, Dylan & Lauren; Nicole (Don) Nelson , Taylor & Alexi ; Renee Thorlakson, Nikeda, Mikailla & Kasia. His father-In-Law, Larry Hedlund and grandmother-in-law, Audrey Berglund (Bob Lumgair). As well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Shawn was predeceased by his grandparents, Donald (Dan) and Vivian Leonard and Louis and Ethel Demerais; his Uncle William (Bill) Demerais; his infant nephew Daniel Hope. His mother-in-law, Anita Hedlund; his grand-parents-in-law, Ernest and Laura Hedlund and Folkie Berglund. Shawn will be sadly missed by his extended family and many friends.
