Obituary
Ethel Kilden (Foy) Taylor was born Feb 17, 1922 to James and Elizabeth Foy, of the Bjorkdale area. She was the fifth child, a sister to Isabelle, May, Dougald, Lillian and Viola.
Ethel attended school in the Bjorkdale area. In March of 1935, she made the most important decision of her life when she accepted Christ as her personal Savior, through reading John 3:16.
In her late teens she moved to the Taylorside district, where she worked for various families and met Stan.
On April 10, 1942 Ethel married Stanley David Taylor. To this union two sons were born, Wayne and Jim. Wayne married Beryl Simms and Jim married April Rundvall. On Feb. 2, 1985, Stan and Ethel’s only grandchild Dwight James, was born to Jim and April. He was Stan and Ethel’s pride and joy! Ethel’s happiest times were spent with him, whether on the floor farming, or in the sand box with dump trucks. How she cherished those moments!
Ethel was a hard worker, whether doing chores, feeding men or working in her vegetable and flower gardens. Tea time and visiting with family and friends was important to them and no one left without a good laugh and a full belly. Ethel had a wonderful sense of humor that everyone who knew her enjoyed, and will now be missed.
After Stan’s passing in 2006, Ethel resided on the farm until Aug. 2008, when she moved to the Diefenbaker high-rise. In Feb. of 2009 she moved to Parkland Place where she was extremely well cared for, until her passing on Wed. April 29, 2015.
Ethel is survived by: son Wayne and his wife Beryl, Jim and his wife April, and grandson Dwight.
One sister, Viola (Dick) Willerton, and sister-in-law Jean White, also numerous nieces and nephews.
