Irma Dupin was born on December 7, 1930 in Loverna, Sask. to Charles & Ada Empey, and passed away peacefully on October 25, 2022 at Jubilee Lodge, Kinistino, Sask.
She took her early years of schooling in Laverna along side her sisters as well as one year of correspondence.
She worked for her room and board while attending collegiate in Saskatoon.After graduation she applied to attend Nurses Training at City Hospital. However, that class was filled so she applied to St. Paul’s Hospital and was accepted.
After Emp graduated nursing training, she and two of her nursing friends applied for positions at Melfort Union Hospital.She worked there for three years during which time she became engaged to Walter Dupin. Emp and her two nursing friends went to Bermuda to nurse, Emp for only 1 1/2 years. When she returned to Melfort she and Walter were married in August of 1954 at St. James Anglican Church in Beatty.
Walter and Emp moved to Saskatoon for two years where Emp nursed at St. Paul’s and Walter worked for the Saskatoon School Board and TCA and the Airport.
After two years they moved back to the farm and Emp went back nursing in Melfort for the rest of her career.
She is survived by her husband Walter, her sons Lindsay (Lynn), Doug (Tara), her sister Iris Empey. Cherished Grandmother of Shawna, Ryan, Desiree, Brianna, Wyatt and Myles, and Great Grandmother to Tori and Nicholas.
Emp was predeceased by her parents Charles & Ada, sister Onalee Empey and brother Charles Empey.
