Phyllis Mabel Dickie was born on August 9, 1922 to Mabel and Fred Butler of Maple Creek, SK. She was one of four children, one sister Dorothy, two brothers Doug and Gordon.
She grew up in Maple Creek on the farm, taking her schooling in a one room school house. After graduation Phyllis applied to Nursing School in Moose Jaw. After she graduated nursing school she worked at Fort San Sanitorium. In 1949 she moved to Melfort to work at the Melfort Union Hospital.
She soon met William Gordon Dickie (Bill), a young farmer in the Melfort area, they were married October 20, 1950. On October 20, 1951 their son Murray Dale Dickie was welcomed into the Dickie family, soon followed a daughter Heather Joy born December 28, 1952. Phyllis was now a busy farm wife and mother. She loved the farm and all that went with it. Her favorite thing was gardening whether it be vegetables or her flowers.
Once the kids were in University Phyllis and Bill started traveling more and spending winter months mostly in Texas. They found lots of friends there, some from Melfort area and many from all over.
Throughout the years Phyllis was involved in many things: Ag Society for one with her painting, quilting, crafts and the U.C.W. She was still involved in many of these things into her late 90’s.
In 1985 Phyllis lost Bill to illness. This was a very difficult time for her. Later in 1987 Phyllis married Cecil Windsor. They enjoyed some good years together, she enjoyed having extra kids and grandkids to fuss over. They enjoyed traveling together with a trip to Australia being a highlight for her. Cecil passed away in 2010 and Phyllis continued to live in her condo until her move to Parkland Place where she received excellent care all the time she was there.
She leaves to celebrate her life Murray (Judy) Dickie; Wendy Dickie (Brad) Alex, Drew and Hannah Passmore; Leanne Dickie/Chester (Len) Chester; Russell Dickie (Tracy) Owen and Andi; Heather (Dickie) Giroux; Dominic Giroux (Carrie), Christian Giroux.
Her brother Gordon Butler (Clara) and their families, many relatives and friends that were touched by her life.

Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
