Arvid was born on August 15, 1924 to Fred and Winnie Anderson in the Brockington region where he grew up. He was a strong young man and a very hard worker. One of his first jobs was working with his Dad at a sawmill in The Pas, Manitoba at the young age of 13. When Arvid was older and residing the area again, he enjoyed farming, the outdoors, and working as a hired man on the farm for others. It was at this time in his life when he met Mary. She was truly the love of his life. They were married and spent the rest of their days together in Brancepeth where they had made their home. The last few years of Arvid’s life were spent at Parkland Place in Melfort. The nurses and staff all spoke highly of him and many enjoyed teasing him as well. He always had a great sense of humour and an even bigger heart. Arvid is predeceased by his beloved wife Mary; his parents Fred and Winnie; his sisters Hilma and Millie; his brothers Arnold, Ralph, Walter, Adolphe and Algot as well as many in-laws, extended family and friends. Arvid will be missed always, loved forever and above all, never forgotten. Service of remembrance was held at the Chapel of Melfort Funeral Home on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dawn Myrfield officiating. Interment ollowed at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Brancepeth, SK. Memorial contributions, in memory of Arvid, may be directed to Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation.
